Man ‘assaults’ girlfriend in auto, passerby rescues her
Mumbai: A 24-year-old woman was allegedly physically assaulted by her boyfriend in an autorickshaw near Adarsh Nagar, Oshiwara, on Thursday night. Hearing her cries for help, a 27-year-old ad film producer, who was in another auto, pulled her into her vehicle and took her to Oshiwara police station. The boyfriend followed them to the police station.
According to the ad film producer, the boyfriend attempted to intimidate the woman even at the police station and stepped away only after she pulled out her phone to record him.

She posted the ordeal on social media, which sparked outrage.
The ad film producer was asked to leave the police station while police spoke to the woman who was allegedly assaulted.
She alleged that police took the issue lightly while she was at the police station. Mohan Patil, senior inspector, Oshiwara police, said, “We have registered a non-cognisable offence as the matter seems to be between the couple. We will probe further.”
